Emergency services
Works dealing with the emergency services sector require special consideration as they are often carried out on the premises while personnel are active in their duties. Lawson Queay has been involved with many premises operated by the emergency services and has also provided services for residential and commercial premises owned and operated by the same agencies.
Special care
Lawson Queay provides services to many local not-for-profit and charitable organisations. Our work spans everything from smaller facilities that offer special care for a select group of residents to care dwellings that cater to over 100 residents. Lawson Queay are able to offer its full range of services to this sector including effective development advice, CDM services and assistance with party wall issues to these facilities.
Education
The specialist surveying team at Lawson Queay has a great deal of experience working with both public and state schools. Services provided include helping schools to plan their future budgets and expenditure for building maintenance issues.
Recreation and adventure
Our skilled surveying team has worked closely with various local authorities and youth organisations. Services we have provided to these organisations include refurbishing and converting sport centres and providing facilities at outward bound centres such as accommodation blocks and activity areas.
Places of worship
Lawson Queay has performed commissioned work for both individual churches and the diocese. We have delivered specialist reports, building surveys, contract administration and CDM services.
Affordable housing
Lawson Queay has 25 years of experience in working in the affordable housing sector and during this time they have built an excellent reputation for their skills, knowledge and expertise in this specialist area. A broad range of services has been provided to our many housing provider Clients in connection with, for example, property acquisitions, refurbishment of existing properties and the development and construction of new affordable homes. Developments have ranged from projects with a few units up to major regeneration schemes with values in the region of £100 million.
Lawson Queay Chartered Surveyors provided professional services to the Church in connection with construction activities which were being undertaken to neighbouring premises. As part of our role we ensured that all necessary protection was employed to prevent the Church structure from any damage.

Lawson Queay Chartered Surveyors were appointed to undertake a pathology inspection of the Church and advise on any defects that were present. The Church had suffered from areas of significant water ingress and our inspection revealed an amount of timber decay which needed immediate attention. Further defects were also noted to the roof coverings and brickwork.

Lawson Queay Chartered Surveyors were instructed to undertake thorough inspections of these buildings to establish the causes of internal defects. Our pathology inspections revealed that significant repair works were necessary to address these issues; these included the replacement of lead lined parapet gutters, the renewal of roof coverings and remedial works to leaded light windows.
